Eğitim-Bir-Sen and Memur-Sen President Ali Yalcin met orphans at Alkhayr Foundation in Mauritania.

Speaking at the gathering of orphans at Alkhayr Foundation, which is the partner of IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and member of United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (IDBS), Ali Yalcin noted that there are a number of sufferings due to natural disasters, catastrophes, wars and accidents around the world and said: “Those children left orphan bear the brunt of these sufferings. We must protect and look after orphans by our humanity. If we do not protect, the orphans fall into the hands of ill-minded networks that see them as capital. If we do not take on this responsibility, our children fall into the missionary trap. Let’s not forget, the orphans are not left orphan when they lose their parents but when we do not protect them.”

Stating that they observed more clearly the importance of non-governmental organizations like IHH that protect and take care of the orphans there, Yalcin said: “If orphans smile, so the world. Based on this point, we are trying to protect and care the oppressed groups and orphans of world as much as we can. However, that’s not enough; we must take actions that will prompt the whole humanity. As Eğitim-Bir-Sen, we carry out the project of ‘Each Class Has an Orphan Sibling’ together with IHH, Ministry of National Education and Presidency of Religious Affairs. We try to contribute to raising our children as people who are conscious, helpful, and sensitive and who share grief with others.”

Ali Yalcin thanked officials of Alkhayr Foundation, which functions effectively in Mauritania with its international quality standard certificate, archive system and international relations, for their efforts to protect and care the orphans.
