We held a regional meeting with Central Asian countries in Tajikistan

The meeting titled "Education and Trade Union System in Developing Central Asian Countries: Basic Problems and Solutions" was held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Eğitim-Bir-Sen secretary general Latif Selvi, Tajikistan Deputy Minister of Education and Science Jurazoda Jamshed Habibullo, Tajikistan Education and Science workers Union (TUESWRT) President Zulkhiya Nozakova, Kazakhstan Education and Science Workers Union President Mukasheva Aigul, Belarus Education and Science Workers Union president Romanova Yakubovic attended the meeting.

Latif Selvi, who spoke at the meeting in which the Deputy Chairman of Eğitim-Bir-Sen Muammer Karaman, Şükrü Kolukısa and Hasan Yalçın Yayla were also present, expressed his gratitude to Zulkhiya Nozakova, the President of Tajikistan Education and Science Workers Union, and his friends, for hosting the meeting and for their devoted work.

There is a need for mutual communication in order for the beautiful and useful to become widespread and for innovations to have a positive impact on our lives. Selvi said “It is extremely important to share experience and knowledge and transfer it from generation to generation. New research, produced tools, communication elements, discoveries offer us new possibilities and opportunities. Our policy is to take a step with the total quality in education and the idea that "everyone has the right to a humane life".

Tajikistan Deputy Minister of Education and Science Jurazoda Jamshed Habibullo congratulated TUESWRT for hosting the program and said, “I would like to thank Eğitim-Bir-Sen, the partner of this program. I hope such programs will become more widespread. The role of unions in the development of education is undeniable. When we come together with our unionist friends, we talk and discuss how we can improve Tajikistan's education."

TUESWRT President Zulkhiya Nozakova emphasized that they attach great importance to the project and hope that it will continue, and said, "We were planning to hold this program in 2019, unfortunately we had to postpone our meeting because of the covid-19 epidemic."

Kazakhstan Education and Science Workers Union President Mukasheva Aigul thanked Eğitim-Bir-Sen and TUESWRT who organized the meeting and said: “This meeting is very important in terms of experience sharing. We are ready to do whatever we can to bring our education to the best level. In this context, we always attach importance to international cooperation.”

Tatiana Romanova Yakubovic, President of the Belarusian Education and Science Workers Union, pointed out the importance of cooperation and said, “We believe that a quality education is possible only with quality educators. We continue our struggle to make teaching a distinguished profession and to improve the status of Teachers. In this way, we plan to increase the quality of education by making the teaching profession a desired profession that successful students want to choose.”

Eğitim-Bir-Sen Vice President Şükrü Kolukısa gave information to the participants about the 7th international short film competition and said, “We held the first of our short film competition with the theme of 'Teacher' seven years ago. The theme of our second short film competition was 'Organization, and the theme of our third short film competition was 'Loyalty'. Then, we fixed the theme of our short film competition as 'Education'. Our aim in organizing this competition is to enable people to see the effort and sweat of the educators.”
