Eğitim-Bir-Sen secretary general Lartif Selvi, vice-presidents Ramazan Çakrıcı and Hasan Yalçın Yayla, Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen women's branch commission President Sıdıka Aydın took part in the workshop titled the Importance of International Solidarity during Covid-19.

Zulhiya Nozakova, head of Tajikistan Education and Science Workers, thanked Eğitim-Bir-Sen for organizing such a workshop and said, “We had many difficulties during the pandemic process, we had to deal with many problems. We had the opportunity to attend the workshop titled education during the covid period, which was organized online by Eğitim-Bir-Sen, where representatives from many countries talked about what ways they used to not interrupt education during the pandemic process, we learned a lot at that meeting, it was a very useful experience in terms of experience sharing.”

Zulhiya continued his words as follows: “The relations between the two countries continue to increase day by day, both economically and politically. As NGOs, we are ready to do our best. During the Covid-19 period, we had the chance to see how important and valuable it is to be in constant communication, share experiences, support each other. For these reasons, I thank you once again.”

Latif Selvi, on the other hand, mentioned the following at the workshop: “First of all, I would like to thank you for accepting our invitation. As you know, unions are democratic and respected structures. Trade unions are structures that always defend the rights of workers and civil servants and work to bring them to a higher welfare. Unions are the power born from unity, and we care about carrying this power from the national to the international arena. There are many things we can achieve together.”

Ramazan Çakırcı said, “I was in Tajikistan as a guest of TUESWRT before, and I thank them for their hospitality. As a result of my observations there, I must say that continuing education despite the pandemic was admirable. The schools and the education provided there were of very high quality, they were schools that would shape the future of Tajikistan.”

After the workshop, Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın, who came together at dinner with the delegation, conveyed his thanks to Zulhiya Nozakova and the accompanying delegation, and said, “We attach great importance to working with Tajikistan and being in cooperation. I would like to state that we are ready to sign joint projects. We, as Eğitim-Bir-Sen, stand against injustice wherever there is injustice, regardless of people, and always try to take sides with the oppressed and the victim. In this context, I attach importance to cooperation and I would like to express that we are ready to do whatever we can with the principle that unity is strength.”
